Eddie's Home!

Erin and Rob got to bring Eddie home last week, and I got to stop by for a visit.  He was just the cutest little thing, and much bigger than when I had seen him last.  He is now 37 weeks gestational, but 2 months old, and just over 5 pounds.  He is on the lowest level of oxygen to help him when he eats for just a few more weeks, but is a typical newborn in every way, which is so good to see.  He eats like a champ, and is healthy, evidenced by weighing more than the doctors thought he would by now.

Rob was holding Eddie in the rocking chair, and I couldn't help but notice Erin lovingly gaze at the two of them, and the look of peace and happiness in her face.  She commented that it is so therapeutic to have Eddie home, and indeed it would be.  Rob and Erin are taking care of him around the clock, as I know they have always wanted to do.  They are finally realizing that dream.  Even though I am only an aunt and a sister, it is therapeutic for me too, just to watch them in action as parents and see a little guy that belongs to them.  As Rob would say, my heart is full.  Welcome home, sweet boy.
