A short trip and the zoo...

One of the reasons I have been slacking on my blog lately, is this last week I took the kids up to have a sleepover at my parent's house. I didn't have anything going on, and I needed a break from our every day routine. Lucky for us, Grandma and Grandpa "B" were happy to have us come crash for a few days. I have to admit that I really don't like being away from Chad for more than one night, but when else do I get the chance to stay up late laughing, doing a puzzle with my brother, play Guitar Hero until also very late with my sister, get a little shopping done without the kids and chat for a few hours in person with my mama? Not only did I have a good time, but my boys are literally counting down the days until they get to have a sleepover again with Damma and B.(Thanks again guys, for letting us come stay!) One of the highlights must have been the morning we spent at the zoo with my brother J, sister Abby and her two kids, Tanner and Lauren. With 5 little personalities, 3 big personalities and a big crowd to fight our way through, I think all of us were ready for a nap just after a few hours. However, it is a great place to visit (you even get used to the smell after a few hours) and we can't wait to do it again next year! Here are a few of the pictures I was able to capture...

How fun and what a great little get away. I'm still bummed we weren't able to get together, but consider yourself lucky (after Parker got better, I got the flu and I would have hated to pass it on to you guys). We need to definitely get together next time! I thought J was in Alaska again for a while? Is he home for good? Cute pics!

This is what a working Damma misses!!! These pictures make me smile and I am sure that there was pure chaos for a while at Hogle Zoo! Aunt Midgie was able to join them for lunch, it makes me feel good to know that my children still "like" each other enough to get together on a regular basis. Scipio here we come!

I am so bummed that I missed the zoo! These pictures are adorable! I really do have the cutest nieces and nephews...they never cease to make me smile. And I'm glad everyone is all geared up for "Scip-po" because we will certainly have an adventure of a lifetime! I love you!

I know all too well how much fun those little trips to see grammy and poppa :) are! It can be it little difficult, the lack of napping, the lack of schedule...ya know. But, being with your family more than makes up for it! It sounds like you had a great time!

It's always nice to always take a break from your everyday things.
