Dear Kids,

A few weeks ago, your Grandma Hunsaker invited you and your cousins to come to "Granny Camp" at her house.  You got to decorate your bikes for the Santaquin Children's parade and then ride in it.  She also fed us pizza before the parade.  Unfortunately, it was raining during the parade, but it stopped pretty quickly, and you were able to do the carnival games at the end of the route.

It was super fun to do with your Mower cousins.  You were dressed up with your hats and capes because of the super hero theme.  We didn't win any awards, but we had a fun time.  I thought for sure Jack wasn't going to make it through the parade, but he did, using both feet.  He doesn't know how to use pedals, or his legs are still not long enough, I don't know which.  We were both pretty tired by the end of it, though.

On another note, we have had Birdie now for almost 4 months, and I think we are all more attached to her than I thought we would be, but that is a good thing.  She grows by the day and is as tall as Emmi now when she get up on her hind legs.  But she is a beautiful dog, and is a good dog too.  She is sleeping through the night, eats all her dog food, does lots of tricks, doesn't have any more accidents in the house, and has now learned to ring her doggie door bells when she needs to go outside.

I love how soft she is, how much she loves all of us, gets excited to see us, and how she wants to always be where we are.  She has learned that it is the coolest in the bathrooms over the air vents, and we will find her there sleeping when we haven't seen her for a bit.  She also loves to go downstairs and find you kids if we leave the door open at the bottom of the stairs, usually to find and chew on a barbie.  She loves stuffed animals too, and will try to take your stuffed animals if you leave them on the floor.  She loves water, and we will catch her playing in her water, and trying to jump in the tub with Jack.

Just recently, Jack got his tonsils out and is sleeping in a little bed I made him on my floor.  We have caught her sleeping with him the last few nights, which makes me smile.  I am so happy that she is a good dog, and that you kids like her.  I hope she will be with us for a while, and you will have fond memories of her.  I grew up with dogs, and we always seemed to have another one soon after one died.  I think every kids needs a dog, and to feel that unconditional love.  There is nothing like having someone always happy to see you and love you when you are having a bad day.

Love,
Mom

There really is nothing quite as comforting as a furry friend when you're on the mend. I'm so glad that she's palling around with Jackie to help him recover. :)
