Last weekend was very busy at our house. Saturday night we got to have a BBQ at the Lunt's house with the Hunsakers and some friends. My kids look forward to it every year. Then we watched the fireworks that they provided. This year it was freezing! When I left my house it was hot and didn't even think about grabbing jackets. We rounded up all the blankets we could and had to snuggle... who would've thought? I love this pic of Keaton, Emmi and their cousin Mccall watching the fireworks.
You might ask where Sam and the other cousin, Chaston, were. Well, they were happily scooting down the sidewalks on these little bikes. I am not quite sure how much they saw of the fireworks.
Fast forwarding to Monday, (I will get to Sunday on the next post), since Chad had the day off and nothing on the schedule, we decided to take the kids out. First we stopped at the only place you can eat on the Fourth of July... KFC. Then we took the kids bowling.
Emmi was in the lead for most of the game, and then Sam ending up beating her by 2 points at the end. She spent most of the time spinning on the floor though. I think the music and disco lights gave her dance fever.
Keaton was quiet and happy as usual, especially since KFC was where he wanted to eat. He was such a big help with Emmi, and helped her carry her bowling ball to the lane.
Like I said, Sam ended up winning, and was pretty proud about that. Here is his victory smile.:)
The smile didn't last too long though, after he discovered that the stylin' bowling shoes gave him a blister. His good Papa offered to carry him back to the car so he didn't have to put his shoes on, and the smile returned. After this we stopped by our favorite snow cone shack and headed to the park. We had a great day.
