You can probably tell by my chubby chipmunk cheeks and tummy that I am pregnant with Sam in this picture. Keek just turned 2 when this was taken. This is about the time that Grandpa started his chemo and as you can see, is sporting a new hairstyle.

The day that this picture was taken, Grandma and Grandpa got home from serving a temple mission in Nauvoo. Up until that time Grandma and Grandpa let Chad, Keek and I live in their condo rent free. It was so nice to live 6 months without paying rent!! (They did serve longer than that of course, my cousin and his wife lived there before we did). I remember that they came over to my Mom's house to say hi before they even went home. It was so good to have them home, even though we were out of a home! Keaton is about 8 months old here.

So, I took this one out of my scrapbook, because this is one of my favorites. Most of you know that Grandpa was ordained a sealer for the LDS church when I was in high school. Grandpa and Grandma were on currently serving their second temple mission in Washington D.C., but they got special permission to fly home to marry Chad and I in the Bountiful Temple. I don't need to tell you how much having him perfom the ceremony meant to both of us- I couldn't put it into words. But, I am so grateful that he was able and more than willing. I will never forget that day!!

I'm sorry about the qualilty of the next couple ones, but they were older, so I had to scan them in. This one was taken when I was in high school, during my tanning days as you can tell. You are probably asking why Grandpa is holding his eye. Well, it isn't because he is hiding his fake eye. (Yes, Grandpa's right eye is actually a glass eye. He lost it from an injury that he got serving in the Korean War, but you really couldn't tell if you met him. Chad actually just was aware of this a few months ago. Boy, was he surprised!!) My mom is taking the picture and at the time was having problems taking good ones. She kept cutting heads off. So, I guess she started holding the other eye shut, while looking through the camera and it seemed to work for her. Weird, I know! Well, Grandpa was making fun of how silly she looked and held his eye shut too! The funniest part, is that Grandpa is holding down his good eye, and opening his fake eye!
Grandma and Grandpa were always very supportive of all of their grandchildren. They came to many of my dance recitals and performances. Here is one I found of my high school graduation. We were limited on tickets, but I was so proud to have them there with my parents to see me get my diploma. Go Braves!!

I hope you all enjoyed this trip down memory lane of me and my Grandpa Hess. You can see what a great man he was. I know that he does live on the other side of the veil and is finally free of his pain and suffering. I know I will see him again. I love you Grandpa!

Food and a little Football...

We had a great Thanksgiving with my side of the family. We ate at my Aunt and Uncle's house in Farmington with all the extended family. Keaton and Sam thought that we were going to eat at "Damma" and "B's" house, so all day they kept asking me if they could leave. Later on that night we gave in and headed over to Grandma's house for a little while. All they wanted to do was sit and eat chips, go figure!! Here is Tanner (my sister Abby's oldest), Sam and Keek giving me funny faces. It was so cute to see them sit so close and eat chips, that I just had to get a picture! A little bit later on, here they are sitting down and eating chips, yet again. What cute boys!
Earlier that day, after we had finished eating, Chad, the boys, and my brother-in-law Rob, went outside to throw the football around. It was too cold to stay out very long, but it was good for the boys to get some of their energy out. I watched them for a minute and it looked like it wasn't as much a game of football as it was a game of keep-a-way from Keaton and Sam. I guess that works too!! Keaton

TAG- I'm It!

Rules:
1. The player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves- try to find 6 you haven't already posted about.

2. At the end of the post the player tags 6 people and posts their names.

It took me awhile to come up with these. I hope they are entertaining!

1. I don't care to travel, and never have. When I was younger I even hated going to sleepovers and I thought that I would eventually get over it as I got older. Well, it has gotten any better! I do enjoy going on vacations, but airplanes, elevators, and buses all make me nervous so we don't get a lot of traveling done. Feel sorry for my sweet husband who badly wants vacations, but won't go because he knows that it scares me!

2. I love sugar cereal!! Chad likes the healthy stuff, but I have to get Chocolate Lucky Charms, Frootloops with marshmallows and other really yummy kinds!! Chad makes fun of me because I have to have sugar on all the cereal I eat. If it isn't already covered, I have to dump a lot on it. Even kinds like Cinnamon Life and Frosted Mini-Wheats I have to add sugar to. I know it is weird, but I like to feel the sugar crunch in my teeth. It's like I'm addicted!!

3. My shoulder muscles are abnormally weak. Back in high school I was taking tumbling classes, trying to do a back-tuck. (a back flip) My arm kept going numb after every tumbling pass, and the next day it hurt like crazy. I stopped cheer leading and switched to drill team because of it, but my shoulder kept going out of place. It happens when I put my arms up, back behind my ears. A couple of times I have just yawned and stretched and pop- my arm gets stuck. I can't explain how painful it is, until it gets put back in place. I guess I need surgery or lift weights the rest of my life to make the muscles stronger.

4. I can't watch scary movies. Even the really dumb Disney movies can scare me at times, so I have to be careful what I watch. The scary parts stick in my head and of course resurface when it is late and I'm trying to sleep. Luckily for me, my family is aware and will usually tell me if they think I shouldn't watch it.

5. Walking barefoot on sidewalks gives me the willies!! Even thinking about it makes me shiver. I think it all stems from 1st grade when I had a cast on my foot. At my elementary, the 1st graders were all in portables, so every day I had to walk from portable to portable. I remember that my cast was heavy for me and just about every day I would end up with bloody toes because I couldn't lift my foot high enough and my open toes would scrape the sidewalk. The poor nurse saw me quite often and would bandage up my toes very nicely!

6. I love reality shows!! I can't get enough American Idol, Dancing with the Stars and the Bachelor, just to name a few. Chad always says, "I can't believe you like to watch this," but I always seem to get sucked in to all the drama. I try to cut back and not watch, but I always break down. It's no use anymore!

Well, that's me!
Okay Sidni, Erin, Daisie and lil Sara- TAG you're it!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

This week in preschool Keaton had a Thanksgiving day feast. He's holding a placemat that he made, and modeling his smashing pilgrim's hat. This is Keek's second year of preschool, and he is still so excited to go every week. We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Going to the Temple... Gonna get married...

This last Saturday, we had a wedding in the Hunsaker clan. My brother-in-law Russ got married to his sweetheart, Misty in the Salt Lake Temple. It was a beautiful wedding and reception. Here are some pictures that we took that day. This is my favorite one of the handsome couple.
At the reception, Sam was literally running all over the place. For some reason he loved to dance around in circles in this little hallway. Here is him in action!
The kids looked so cute that night! As you can see, Sam took his tie off as soon as the professional pictures were taken, because it was too "tight" as he says.
This is Sam, Keaton and their cousin Mccall Mower.
A family photo at the end of the night.
Do we look like we've had a long day, or what?!
At one point in the night, Sam plopped down on the floor in front of the wedding video. I had to take a picture, because I couldn't believe he stopped moving for a minute- it was a miracle!!

More Wedding Photos...

Here are a few more pictures of the wedding.
There was just too many to fit on one post!!
Here's a cute one of the good-looking couple. This is Emmi with her Aunt Kristin, aren't they pretty!
My parents came down to the reception that night and my boys were so thrilled to see them. They asked for them all night, long after they left. Here's Keaton with "Damma".
Chad's grandparents came down from Oregon for the wedding. I got this one while Sam was actually sitting still on Grandpa's lap.
Emmi started to lose it at the end of the night. Chad took this one of the two of us, just before the crying started (Emmi of course)!!
